I just sent the same PM to the same Pixie twice.
Oh well, now it can be read in stereo. I should have used red and green text so that it could be read in 3D.

Hi, Mom, I'm Home!
I'm Back!
Believe it or not, it ended up being a good experience. Monday night before the surgery, I was watering my tomatoes in the back yard and thought I saw a dragonfly out of the corner of my eye ... but, when I looked it was a little hummingbird hovering about arm's length Little guy stayed there all the time I was watering and I talked gently to it. When I was done and told it I had to go back in, it looked, turned, and (for a hummingbird) flew slowly away. I knew right then that everything would be alright.
Got to the hospital and the lady in Admitting (after I got the required blood test), told my wife and I what a pleasure it was to find someone unafraid and actually cheerful on the day of surgery. She came around and gave both of us a big hug.
Folks in surgery were terrific and the doctor was in a bright and cheerful mood. Surgery, expected to last as long as 2 1/2 hours, ended up taking only 45 minutes. In fact, when I woke up in recovery, I asked if we'd be starting soon.
Anyway, all the cancer was removed along with a spot that was nothing more than benign scar tissue. CANCER IS GONE! Praise God.
Got into my room and within a couple hours or so, I went for my first walk. Walked about 1/2 mile and the nurse walking with me had me slow down a bit but I was walking too fast for her. Made two more walks the same day. Rest of the time, I did four walks each day of about 1.5 miles each. Not bad for just getting out of surgery.
Great young nurse from Nova Scotia and a young technician were the only two that stayed with me. Rest had me slow down.
Had a housekeeper that did my room and after a couple of days, she sang a soft Christian song for me (very uplifting), and the day I checked out, she and anther housekeeper came by and sang a duet for me. What a great joy they were.
All the nurses and technicians were exceptional. Very loving people who care so deeply about their patients. They were truly a blessing.
Anyway, home again now and already did one of my outdoor walks here near our house. Lots of friends have visited and ... hey ... the sky is blue, the temperatures mild, and there's just a lot of joy that I'm feeling right now.
Thanks again to all of you for your thoughts and prayers, they mean more than you can imagine. God bless you all!
DB
