along these lines, i get funny looks when i say "fixin" as in "i'm fixin to go to the store" or "i'm fixin to watch the game" apparently it's a Texas thing. do any other areas use that word? it just seems natural to me, but on more than one occasion i have been asked to reapeat myself

When I moved from VA to TN....It took me a couple of weeks to adjust to the accent, and I only moved 2 1/2 hours away!!! But you've got to love it! The nicest people in the world live in TN! And they won't even hesitate to tell you their entire life story the VERY first time you meet them!!! I just smile and nod.
