Top this one Steph
The day was looking like it was going to be a good one. The sun was shinning, in fact there was not a cloud in the sky. It had snowed last night so everything had a bright clean white look. It was cold out. You can tell this before you even go out by looking at the neighbors houses and seeing how long the furnace exhaust plume is. I had a meeting where I was presenting a proposal for a contract. I had gathered all the materials I needed, my coffee was steaming and strong, out the back door to ……find that my car had been stolen. I just exhaled and muttered dam. My last payment was in June. Some bugger had taken my car. Well it is still sunny outside.
I’m going to go and have a scotch.

campingboy, I feel your pain. We, too, went out the door one morning to find that our car had been stolen, with my husband's favorite set of golf clubs inside. We did get the car back a few days later unharmed--apparently kids needed a joyride--but, of course, no clubs. ((hugs)) to you--it's an awful situation.

I have my own kind of “CLUB” I want to put in my car but I guess it's illegal to booby-trap your vehicle up there too.
Make your phone calls and reschedule life for another day. You at least DO have the beautiful day to look at along with Johnny Walker. Imagine being Steph and having to start the day by looking in the mirror.
(see how much better you can feel already?)

Oh dayyyyyyyyyum (((((((campingboy)))))))!
I know the feeling..........
Went to the mall one day in big sis's Chevy deuce....(it was beautiful)......walked past 5 guys selling X-mas trees....who saw us get out of the car and commented on it's beauty...........came out no more than 15 minutes later........the guys "had no idea what we were talking about"..........
I coulda cried! All we did was call sis's fiancee.....and go for drinks when he came and got us (he called it in on the way to get us.......he was a cop!)
Hang tough hun! Worse things have happened......and someday you'll believe that......too!

<sigh> It's nice to know I'm also known in Pixies for my bad luck!
Winnipeg is the worst city in the country for car theft, is it not? I hope things work out for you soon, camping boy.
I don't think I mentioned this in Pixies but my parents' car was stolen in October. They got a call at 3 a.m. that it was found but it was 30 kms away so my father was going to pick it up in the morning. When he went to pick it up, it was gone! Stolen again! LOL

Campingboy, I'm really sorry. Hopefully they'll find the car and get it back to you fairly soon and catch the creeps that did that.
You've got our thoughts and best wishes.

Well damn. What a crappy way to start the day. I think I would smooth freak out if I ever walked out and saw my car was stolen.
