hmmmm...that's a tough question...
Over the years, I've had several theme songs! I suppose my friends would tell you that I always say "this is my theme song" when I hear either "Baby got back" or "Brickhouse". If we're talking about songs that encompass me...
The Wood Song - Indigo Girls
"No way construction of this tricky plan
was built by other than a greater hand
with a love that passes all it's understanding
watching closely over the journey...yeah
but what it takes to cross the great divide
seems more than all the courage I can muster up inside
but we get have some answers when we reach the other side
the prize is always worth the rocky ride...
...sometimes I ask to sneak a closer look
skip to the final chapter of the book
and maybe steer us clear from some of the pain it took
to get us where we are this far....
...but the question drowns in it's futility
and even I have got to laugh at me
no one gets to miss the storm of what will be
just holdin' on for the ride...."
or
To Live is to Fly - The Cowboy Junkies
...I'm as soft as glass
your a gentle man
we got the sky to talk about and the world to lie upon
days up and down they come
like rain on a conga drum
forget most
remember some
but don't turn none away
everything is not enough
and nothing is too much to bear
where ya been is good and gone
all ya keeps the getting there
To live is to fly
low and high
so shake the dust off of your wings and the sleep out of your eye
Good bye to all my friends
it's time to go again
think of all the poetry and all the pickin' down the line
I'll miss the system here
the bottom's low and the trebles clear
it don't pay to think too much on the things you leave behind
I may be gone
but I won't be long
I'll be bringing back all the melodies and all the rythms that I find"
