A few years ago I entered a small piece of writing into a contest and won a music CD called Honey from the Tombs by Amy Millan . For that reason, it is a special discovery. Her music along with a photograph also inspired me to write another small piece.
You will find two of her songs posted via video on her page:
* Baby I
* Skinny Boy
You will also find the album under music and hear all the songs.
A Rolling Stone review of Skinny Boy said, "Amy’s voice is clear and sweet and gorgeous, with a tart bit of heartbroken weariness underneath that almost reminds us of Exile in Guyville-era Liz Phair. And if anyone can find us a new single with a line better than “you’ve got lips I could spend a day with,” we will eat fifty eggs."
I agree with that sentiment completely.
