maybe scotz, but just look at the rates now. it will be exponential on an almost monthly basis in the future - unless the avian flu does get us   and in the distant past, i would have agreed that it would. but now we are smarter and very eager for it not to. if we find a way to stop or at least stem what a plague of that magnitude would do to our population, then the colonization of outerspace really is our only option.
