Opinion of the moment is that if a guy is of around average size, technique is more important. If he's not around average (either way), then technique is crucial.
One exception: to get rid of cramps during my period, a long cock and great stamina work better than any over-the-counter remedy (although I haven't tried the guys over the counter, hmmm...)
