Arabic Text Translator Online

I was hoping someone might have an idea where I can get some text translated into Arabic online. Most of the tools I find say free but are only teasing, apparently. Any help would be appreciated.

Not my field of expertise Lil...but you've triggered my curiousity. Um...why Arabic?

Good laudy laudy...I need to stop being so nosey!

I thought I saw a tool in Microsoft Word that would allow translations to another language. I did an index search and found this...

Translate or look up text in the dictionary of another language
The feature described in this Help topic is only available if support for the language you are translating is enabled through Microsoft Office Language Settings.

You can look up text in the dictionary of a different language, and perform basic translation of short phrases.

On the Tools menu, point to Language, and then click Translate.
Under Translate what?, do one of the following:
To translate a specific word or short phrase, click Text, and then type it in the Text box.
To translate text that is selected in your document, click Current selection. If no text is selected, you can select it now.
In the Dictionary box, select the languages you want to translate from and to. For example, if you want to translate English to French, click English U.S. to French France.
The languages that appear in the Dictionary box depend on the language dictionaries that are installed on your computer.

Click Go.
The results appear in the Results box.

If you want to replace selected text with the translated text, select the translated text in the Results box, and then click Replace.
Note If the translation tool doesn't provide the results you want, or if you need to translate a longer piece of text, you can connect to translation services on the World Wide Web. Under Translate via the Web, select the translation service you want, or select (More translation services), and then click Go.

I searched translate English to Arabic... hopes this helps!

yuk.. that translation thing doesn't work in Word.. I tried it..

Thanks! I don't have the translation tool installed so I am doing that and will try.

I am doing an ESOL project that requires me to make materials in various students' native or home languages. Arabic is one seen quite frequently in my area so I chose that for my student's profile.

Sharni.. that second link is pretty cool! May have some use for it at school! :D

Lilith 01-31-2005 10:17 PM

After registration it's $30...I tried that one at school today...they all seem free but then only allow 125-150 words as a trial.

Sharni 01-31-2005 10:26 PM

Which one Lil?

The first one or the second one?

Put all you have on a webpage and translate that way

Lilith 01-31-2005 10:31 PM

Yeah I was thinking I might try that because I can't get the Chinese to print right either. Thank you guys for the help. This project is getting to be a pain. He already extended the due date 2 more weeks.

This site allows 125 words per day, per computer, and extra words are only a penny (not to shabby!). Maybe we could make it a group assignment and each do 125 words for you, it would be done in no time!
