10-4 Chunky Monkey on that Lot Lizard at Exit 159

Roll-in down the highway....What is your CB Handle?????

Tess 02-19-2003 03:05 PM

Since CB's went the way of 8-track tape players, I don't use a handle anymore, but when I did, it was:

Carolina Coondog

Scarecrow 02-19-2003 06:44 PM

Use to go by White Pony(had a white Mustang)

kleclere 02-19-2003 07:21 PM

Still go by popcorn popper. CBs aren't totally gone.

Lilith 02-19-2003 07:23 PM

I was Wildfire, I was 8.....lol

BlondeCurlGirl 02-19-2003 11:06 PM

All I have to say is....yikes.

sad_sam 02-19-2003 11:17 PM

"China Light"

scotzoidman 02-19-2003 11:48 PM

Seems I traded my CB for an 8-track player, shortly after I got my license from Friendly Cousin Charlie...and someone stole the clamp-on aerial off my ChevyVan...so I never got a chance to use a handle...

skipthisone 02-20-2003 09:44 AM

Come on, I am just feeling nostalgic, I just watched Smokey and the Bandit the other night...ahh the good old days

jay 02-20-2003 09:56 AM

by the way whats an 8 track?????????

BlondeCurlGirl 02-20-2003 10:15 AM

skip, I think you're just gonna have to make one up for me ;)
and if these were still used widespread today, I think you'd hear nothing but laughter from my end :D

skipthisone 02-20-2003 10:19 AM

The fun has been lost now :(

BlondeCurlGirl 02-20-2003 11:12 AM

ohh, I think there's still plenty of fun to be had with this thread!

I just know in my case, I wasn't around when the CB craze was on, so I can't quite get into the groove of things and think up a creative name for myself... :o

I'm sure there are plenty of other Pixies members out there who had some kick-ass name for themselves :) And even if they didn't...now's the time to make up the one ya always wanted.

IAKaraokeGirl 02-20-2003 11:20 AM

Aren't our member names similar to CB names, in a way? CBs died out...the internet took over. :)

skipthisone 02-20-2003 11:24 AM

I think you are right IAKG....same thing

Irish 02-20-2003 11:33 AM

Jay---If you're really interested in what an 8-track is,I have one
(with tapes)in my garage that I will sell you!I took it out of my '75
NovaSS&as far as I know it still work great. You might have trouble
finding tapes for it though.I have Alice Cooper&some others that I
will include in the sale! Irish

LixyChick 02-20-2003 05:46 PM

Depends on whether I was......

Out on the ocean, fishing......I was "C-Robin"..........(It's part of my name but it is also a "trash" fish that swallows hooks and looks like it has wings.....*sea robin*) LOL!

Or on those rare occasions when I talked on the CB in the car or my boyfriends father's rig........I was "Sassy".....and I have no idea why!

And, um....skip?

What's your 20 Jammer? Going for a 10-100 and when I get back..........

*I'm calling you Jammer till you tell us your real handle!*

Aqua 02-20-2003 07:20 PM

Breaker 2-2, breaker 2-2, Gotta kojak with a kodak in a plain white wrapper just past marker 57.
Never really had a handle... so just call me, uh, uhm, er, heck, could I possibly be anything but Aquaman! :p

Scarecrow 02-20-2003 07:52 PM

Hey Sassy 88's your way

jay 02-20-2003 10:18 PM

Irish I was just kidding but thanx for the offer those 8track tapes are probaly worth somthing on e-bay though

lexi 09-28-2003 08:08 PM

my handle was "slow poke". i was very young and my dad gave me the handle.

But, really, Skip, you started this, what WAS your handle?

Steph 09-29-2003 12:18 PM

I never had a handle but I'd probably go with Steph . . . maybe add 69 if I was in the mood.

I saw a documentary on prostitutes . . . there was a whorehouse that entices truckers over the radio. It appeared to work like a hot damn as well.

skipthisone 09-29-2003 01:13 PM

There are 6 truckstops where i live, Lot Lizards are a norm here.

WildIrish 09-29-2003 01:34 PM

I was around 8 when I found out what a 10-200 was. That was an embarassing conversation, let me tell you. Nothing like telling a trucker "I'm gonna take a 10-200" without knowing what you're saying.

I was "Zippo" at the time.

Irish 09-29-2003 02:00 PM

When I moved from one town to another,I used my father-in-laws pickup truck. It had a CB radio in it.I used to listen to it but
never used it,so I never had a "handle."For everything else,I just
used my normal nickname. It really is "Irish" Irish

Scarecrow 09-29-2003 04:43 PM

For the life of me, I can't remember my handle now. But we had a mini-motor home and it was fun at night listening to all the truckers chatting on the air. Don't have a CB anymore, but txgrneyes, you sure brought back memories with your list.

Remember the Smokey and the Bandit movies and the Rubber Duck and his Convoy? :D Those were fun days.
