Christopher Moore is great I've read all his stuff up till Fluke. Then other authors and lack of money have kept me from reading his last few books. if you have a facebook account add his page he post great little blogs on there.

Thanks for the tip, Booger--I'll do that!

I've read this series SO many times since the first time 5 years ago and only recently went through it at work via audio books...and am currently listening to the Anita Blake books at work. I'm up to Obsidian Butterfly.

"Transgressing the Boundaries: Towards a Transformative Hermeneutics of Quantum Gravity"

I know that sounds like pure BS, and it was! This article was a hoax perpetrated by Alan Sokal, published in Social Text at the height of the Science Wars.

In it, by presenting carefully worded nonsense, Dr. Sokal illustrated the lack of intellectual rigor practiced by postmodernist critics who had little understanding of the science they criticized.

A marvelous hoax!

I'm just finishing up Push by Sapphire, the novel that the movie Precious was based on.

Definitely not for the faint of heart of the easily depressed.

Y'all are making me feel frivolous. I just started Waking Up in the Land of Glitter, by Kathy Cano-Murillo.

shadowsfate 02-28-2010 08:20 PM

I've been switching between the Discworld series by Terry Pratchett (a friend of mine has almost the entire series and thought I might enjoy it) and the Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan (I'm rereading it just before I read the newest, so everything is fresh in mind), although I may have to start skipping the Discworld series for a bit, since I've been loaning the Dragon reborn books to my neighbor and he's catching up on me fast :yikes:

Both good series, just in completely different ways

Lord Snow 02-28-2010 09:33 PM

God, I'm still reading the Wheel of Time. Finally made it to book ten. I still haven't gotten books 11 and 12, though my friends gave me In the Beginning for this past Christmas.
