What are you, 500?

SuccubusKitty 01-07-2004 07:20 PM

Oddly enough folks I have just a few collections...Madame Alexander dolls, minature shoes, cats, and fairies and any thing Irish. I also collect dragons, knives and sort of macabre dolls...I have RiffRaff, Morticia and Gomez Addams, Merlin and Morgan LeFaye, a Twisted Tatum, and several Living Dead Dolls.

Yes I know those two sets of things don't quite match up but :p I am an odd mix of twisted and normal too. :D If nothing else my house has interesting decor. :lust:

Mor Rioghan 01-09-2004 04:23 PM

My Collections

Well, let me see...

I am probably one of the few people that still owns cassettes...and I have an odd collection of music on them that ranges from the 60/70s to just a few years back. (I think there is over 150 by now.)

We (hubby & I) have about 250-300 cds or more between us.

I collect certain Ty Beanie Babies.

I also collect Unicorns, Fairies, Dragons, Wolves, Candles, Candle Holders (just a few here), and anything else that strikes my fancy when I see it.

The funny thing is that hubby feels that he doesn't collect anything...but he has his own collection of TRF mugs, dragons, wolves, a couple of Star Trek items, and his odd assortment of swords, knives, and guns.

So, just between him and I, our house is quite full. :p

Well, hubby's truck has a cd player...and I can always play them on either stereo in the house. Eventually, I would love to get them (or @ least the important ones) on CD.

osuche 07-07-2004 11:53 AM

I collect knives and switchblades. I have about 30 so far. Yes, I know it's sick...but I love them. :D

jay-t 07-07-2004 12:13 PM

I collect antique tools(blacksmith & carpentry) I have a healthy respect for those that could hand plane an 8ft board flat!
My prize tool would be a 100lb anvil made in the 1880s

Irish 07-07-2004 01:22 PM

osuche---If you're sick,you're not alone.I had alot of knives.When I cleaned,
my house & garage out lately,I gave most of them to one of my grandsons.
I saved a few, because they are so hard to get anymore.I gave him most of
my "survival" type knives. Most of the ones that I saved are jackknives.I, also,
saved a double edged "Butterfly"knife. They are not only illegal(double edged)
but rare.I even have one of the old "Lansky" knife sharpeners. They take alot
of patience, but do an excellant job! Irish

OK.... Now I'm envious of your collection. :D

Irish 07-07-2004 01:37 PM

osuche---My (deceased)father was an ex-Conn.State Cop.I used to have quite alot of switchblades, that he took away from people. He also carried his
own when he worked "undercover".They are(unfortunately)all given away or
broken now!Somewhere,I have the "old" blackjack, that he used to carry. Irish
P.S.Most people,think that when a cop,confiscates weapons,alcoholic beverages,etc,that they turn them in!Bullshit!

Y'know, I always wondered if that park cop enjoyed my dime bag back in the 70's...

Irish 07-07-2004 06:07 PM

Scotz---When we lived in Portsmouth NH,a fellow rider(Yellow 850 Norton),
was also a Ports cop.I remember, one night, when we were all going to a
motorcycle unveiling(That years motorcycles)at a dealers,in Maine,in our buddies custom van,he took out a joint,lit it,& was passing it around.He had
taken it away, from a suspect, approx 1/2hr before. We all kept our bikes in the same garage. We used to race, from bar to bar.Last one there, paid for the drinks. He was a cop then. Irish
P.S.When I was a kid,my father told me,that what people,didn't realise,is that
when cops aren't on duty, the're just like anyone else!

Zoid!

People are fondling your lamp. :yikes:

Maybe this is where you want to take your holiday vacation, Scotzoidman. Today they opened the Christmas Story house to hustle some buck$ out of somebody.

Here's a pic of my daughter reading about it on Thanksgiving day.

This is a thread that many of our Pixies who have found a home here, since it was started, can enjoy and add to. I want to know more about how silly we all are.

I miss this thread, it's fun to see what y'all are into.

In the last few years I've acquired enough crystal that it's become a bit of a collection. I've also started to collect high heels ... just haven't figured out how to walk in them yet.

Lord Snow 02-13-2010 06:46 AM

Your balance is all in how you walk and move your hips. (I know, it's sad that a guy can walk in heels.) I collect movies (both physically and memorizing lines to watch in my head), dragons, and books. I love my books.

I love my books too. I've had several people get flabbergasted when the saw how large my collection of books and RPGs. That's why I don't plan on moving anytime soon, much too much work to cart all that paper around

Rhiannon 02-13-2010 03:22 PM

For some reason it started a while ago.I collect empty journals that i use when i journal.

There has been a few additions to "The 3 Wise Monkeys" collection. I never go looking for them, but after not running across any for months and months, I'll find a couple within days or a week.

The 2nd and 3rd pics are interesting as it's the only one so far with them each covering something on the one next to themselves.

Have you seen the four wise monkeys?

I have and like them a lot. :) When I was first 'prompted' to start the collection:rolleyes2 I knew I had to set myself rules or it would be another run-away horse for me. I never pickup anything except the 3 monkeys for myself. I have a couple of the 4 that were given to me and I love them in the collection. :D

I saw these 3 and they reminded me of your collection. I don't think the lady would have appreciate me lifting them from around her pool.

PantyFanatic 06-21-2010 10:11 AM

We haven't see the collections of the newer members since this thread was started. I'm sure we have a lot of interesting collections among us. I believe most 'collections' begin as 'accumulations' rather than intended collections. Show us the totally unnecessary neat things that you have become fond of.

themi01 06-21-2010 11:01 AM

There's this guy who lives in Maine (and now part-time in Florida) that's been known to put a few words on paper and make it interesting. I'm kind of a fan.

Oldfart 06-21-2010 05:38 PM

Larry Niven doesn't live in Florida, I'm sure.

SELL THEM?!?!

I have just as many if not more that not in the package anymore..
some were just too cool to not open... like the Alice Cooper figure with a
fully articulated guillotine!!

PantyFanatic 07-17-2010 10:22 PM

My latest addition is so special it deserves a link to a thread of it's own.

I was re-reading the thread and noticed this. The Barrett Arms who make the super-sexy .50cal were formed in 1982. Do you know anything more about your barret arms? I couldn't find any reference to it in my gun books.

themi01 07-19-2010 10:36 AM

OLD CB radios and old radio technology you can hear me as either GS-259 or just plain old 259 on 27.385 MHZ lower sideband Yes I did make OZ that way once so dust off that CB equipment
