Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood by Eric Burdon.

I've been wanting a copy for years now, & finally found one cheap on Ebay, from Goodwill of Indianapolis no less...like new copy, but when I cracked it open, discovered it was also autographed by the author!

I'll be hangin' on to this one...at least until EB dies, anyway :rolleyes2

Just don't misunderstand him.

I'm so glad you posted this Scotz--thanks to you, I now have a Christmas gift for my eternally hard-to-buy-for dad.

I just started After the Ecstasy, the Laundry by Jack Kornfield.

Naked Came the Manatee by Dave Barry, Les Standiford, Paul Lavine, Edna Buchman,James W. Hall, Carolina Hospital, Evelyn Mayerson, Tananarive Due, Brian Antoni, Vicki Hendricks, John Dufresne, Elmore Leinard, and Carl Hiaasen.

This was originally published as a serial novel in the Miami Herald's Tropic magazine each author taking a chapter a week then later put out as a book. It intresting to see the writing style changes in each chapter.

So anyhow, to reply to the thread....

Another EB & the Animals fan, eh...I may be one of the few people who bought (and still possesses) all of Eric's psychedelic era albums...what was I thinking?

I think this book is out of print now, (2001 (c) ) so you may have to hunt Ebay etc. to find a good used copy, like I did. Lots of funny & sometimes tragic stories, & maybe the biggest surprise is that Eric still remembers any of them

No, you're not slow...it's hard to keep up, even for those of us that are here when she does her Sybil thing

Oldfart 09-07-2009 02:54 AM

Teddy Bear 09-07-2009 11:48 AM

OF, I never would've guessed you knew of Gor.

I know several people who claim to 'live' it....

Reading to try and figure out why?

Cause right now I see no advantage or anything good from a females point of view. Its great for the guys.

Gor was a Phase I went through, after the Lensman Series and before John Carter of Mars. Re-reading them now may be interesting, to see if they're better or worse than Henlein.

Sharni has always been an interesting group of people, don't you think?

Oldfart 09-08-2009 08:27 PM

Yes, even in person.

I've just started reading the first novel in the new Clive Cussler "Fargo" franchise, Spartan Gold. It's another improbable romp, still fun just.
