Forget what? :spin: :) |
I wish I could go, but it's looking like I might have some bad news coming that will require me to head up to Connecticut. Kind of a shame, I would love to Criss Angel's show live.
|
We may have to pass this one.
|
Scarecrow, maybe we ought to look at a day at Allerton or maybe a couple of days at Starved Rock or Turkey Run in Indiana?
|
Or maybe a riverboat trip?
They all sound like good ideas to us. |
Riverboat?
Was that General Jackson or Darren McGavin? |

Or, The Spirit of Peoria. :) |
I wanna go!!!!

You'd be welcome to join us in whatever we do. :)

It's looking like a small but exciting group at Lost Wages. |

I think we will book tix for the Criss Angel/ Cirque du Soliel show Believe for either of the two nights we are there. It is the one request of my smallest demon spawn. Does anyone want to go with? We can't purchase tix online for another month but just wanted to throw it out there. |

We're still planning to be there. Xmas expenses were more than expected, so once cash flow normalizes again, there will be reservation-making. I have my heart set on the LOVE show by C du S, and we probably won't do more than one, as the tickets are spendy. |
M said that she'd be interested in seeing it.
|
Which "it" was that, Oldfart?
|
Believe.
|
Damn, you get to go see a show that I would sell my mother to see and I can't afford to go anywhere.
|
Keep an eye on the Mother Market over the next few months.
|
I just checked to make sure neither LOVE or Believe were dark when we were going to be there, and they're not.
Believe is at the Luxor and tickets run $59 to $160 LOVE is at the Mirage, and tickets run $93.50 to $150. Mr. Red and I will probably be going towards the higher end for LOVE, as I'm only doing this once. At this point, it doesn't sound like we're going to have enough people to get any kind of a group rate even if we all went to the same show. I'm holding off buying tix at this point. There's plenty of time; I somehow doubt people will be pouring into Vegas in July. Just us Pixies. :) |
wow vegas, thats wild, you all have a good time :)
|
We'll have a better time when more people line up.
|
Okay, we are booked for July 21-23 (W-F, leaving Saturday morning) at the Trump. We got a suite so that we could have a gathering place for sitting around and chit-chatting after dinner if we so wish. I'm going to pull a Scarlet O'Hara and think about show tickets tomorrow...or rather, a few tomorrows down the road. Maybe there'll be more people signed up by then.
|
Perhaps we could plan on a group dinner on the 21st since we are booked the nights of the 20 and 21st. My peeps will go see Believe on the 20th if you guys want to get together our last night/your first night.
|
Wait--are you booked the 21st AND want to do dinner on the 21st? In any case, we're a YES! for dinner, and whatever else the gang works out. I'm really looking forward to it.

We are there the 20th and 21st. We head to the Grand Canyon on the 22nd. |
Dinner 21st sounds good.

Dinner always sounds good, doesn't it? Oh ... you mean scheduling the Pixie dinner in Vegas. ![]() |
I'd save you a doggie bag, but the airlines won't let me carry it.

What the doggie or the bag???? |
Decisions, decisions.

Vegas sounds like it's gonna be out of my price range this year, but I'm gonna do some searching and see what I can find.
|
I hope you, and other folks, will consider it, and we can get a good crowd of Pixies. Airfare is always a bear, but it's usually not too bad to Vegas.
Most (all?) of us will be staying at Trump International, so far; Lilith found great rates at Expedia. $76 a night (plus the usual hotel/tourist fees) for a suite! And there's a lot to do in Vegas that won't break the bank. (That is, of course, easier to do if you don't gamble. :) ) Back some years ago, when Mr. AZRH and I were still both teaching and broke (of course), we went to Vegas on the supercheap. I think we lost 75 cents gambling, and learned our lesson before we left the lobby. We were (and remain!) hick enough to enjoy just wandering in and out of the hotels and seeing the elephant, as it were, but there are tons of free things to do there: http://www.vegas.com/attractions/freeattractions.html |

Save yourself the airfare. Slither to Vegas instead. |
I'm bumping this up in case someone has been wondering if they should come to Vegas and hang out with excellent Pixies (yes, you should) and was waiting for a sign.
THIS IS YOUR SIGN. Come. We'll do dinner. Shows. Chit-chat. It'll be fun! |
Lilith and I'll be there too, so it'll be an experience.
What do you mean that wasn't helpful, AZRedHot? We'll discuss that later. |

It'll be a GREAT experience, and I'm so looking forward to it! It's amazing to me that Pixies has been part of my life for 6 years now; it'll be so cool to finally meet some of my friends from here. :grope: <--group hug |
I could be convinced. It's after my cycling event (which is in June), so I should have more time by then. Vegas is a close and easy flight for me.
