You should see some of the stupid questions I ask...MrX has one heck of a lot of patience with me. A CBT is your provisional, you can ride a 125 but with plates and not on motorways. It only lasts for a couple of years, so I 've got about a year and a half left before I need to renew it.
I really loved it, I've been on the back of bikes but loved being by myself. Ive just got to find a training centre that is a bit less "macho" or go with some girlfriends....Im quite a shy person you see. :) I know guys and gals that are really good with the big motorcycles, the control is so impressive but I don't see me getting to that stage! :) |
MissX---I HATE riding behind someone.They might go to the right ;
in a situation; where you might go to the left.Their way might be just as good or better then yours;but it is still not what your reflexes would do and scares the Hell out of you. Irish |
Yeah I've been there....when the rider was filtering and I just so wasn't happy being between two trucks...thankfully it was a once off but I know that one mistake is all it takes. On the plus side, my car driving improved heaps when I was learning to ride...observation, anticipation and stuff.

Forces that road sense to develop, doesn't it!

MissX&O.F.---My wife still makes fun of me because I get so mad
when someone is tailgateing me in my car.It comes from riding motorcycles.I always figured that if something happened;in front of me;and I had to stop quickly.By the time the person behind me, saw my brake lights,reacted and hit his brakes,and stopped(braking distance).If I was on a motorcycle;I was probably squashed!Without realising it;you develop those protective reactions.You develop them;automatically;when you have put alot of time on a motorcycle.I used to race motorcycles also and you would be suprised at the instincts that develop! When I met my husband he was riding a 79 Yamaha XS1100....and we had a lot of good times on it...
His favorite thing was to put me in front of him on it and pick it up into a catwalk and go down our road.....I learned quick what he really meant when he said hang on...lmao He taught me how to ride although I never got a road license....I could drive that big Yammie no problem but I had to have him on the back because I am just over 5' tall and my legs couldnt touch the ground when I had to stop! |
Any new motorcycle owners?? |
I have a 96 H-D super glide,lot of fun riding. great joke Lil.

OH THE SHAME OF IT!!!
I am so disappointed in you Irish!:rolleyes:
What could possibly have happening that it took you 41 minutes to clamp onto this thread:confused:? LMFAO :D ;) |

Hi all;
Unlike Irish (& various others) I'm not really in to Hogs.. just replaced my 6-yr old Kawasaki ZX-6R with a new ZX636... I KNOW it's japanese Irish, but over here (U.K.) they're more affordable than Harleys... anyway, as one of my American friends describes them, "Crotch Rockets" are so much more FUN over here... twisty roads, sunny day and my lady on the back... bliss!!! I take Irish's point to MissX about the danger of riding on the roads... but, if you love bikes & biking as much as I do, then the risk is worth it! 'sides, I reckon it's the MOST fun anyone could ever have...... with your clothes ON, anyway!!! DM |
I must get round to taking my tests...... I've got a Yam TZR 125.
I've been (solo) on a very nice Honda CBR 600 :D on the back of a VTR1100 yummy !! :) if anyone wants a little looky some of the bikes can be seen here http://www.fluffyknight.co.uk/bikes/bikes.php check out the custom paint job on the CBR grrrrrrrrr SEXY |
dm383 ~ I'm like you...I have a Jap bike too
And to be honest have absolutely no desire to have a Harley....sorry to those that like em...but just not for me...too damn noisy and too damn expensive Q/...What do you call a Harley with twin exhausts? A/...A Wheelbarrow :D |
Sharni,new Harleys are not noisy at all,you have to change the pipes on them to get that pure Harley sound. A new Harley is as quiet as any other new bike.
Bisexy,I have read your other posts you sound like you have really lived the lifestyle,and the tats help prove that.Thanks for the compliment I love my bike,i am planning a sturgis ride for next year. The best I have been to so far is Laconia. |
