#520~Only one person in two billion will live to be 116 or older.
|
#521 (and I can already imagine the measuring that's going to occur the minute I post this)
Your foot is nearly the same length as your forearm as measured from the inside of the elbow to the wrist. |
#522
Had 3 deliveries yesterday. 2 DVDs and a CD. |
#523~More than 50% of the people in the world have never made or received a telephone call. (The telemarketers haven't found them...yet...)
|
#524
So do we have general movie/video and music review threads going? The porn review thread I tried to get started died again quite quickly. :P |
#525~dadaist~what were they? I actually got a delivery yesterday, too, but nothing nearly as exciting. I got a programmable weather radio. Woohoo!
|
And this brings a whole knew meaning to those 80s flashbacks I've had:
#526~A pregnant goldfish is called a twerp. |
Try this one...
#527~It is impossible to lick your elbow or stick your elbow in your ear.
|
#528
Two DVDs were imports. One is region 0, but PAL. So it'd still require a converter (or a good DVD-ROM drive). The other is Region 2+4, AND PAL, so it'd require both. For those that need explanations, I think another thread would be required. The discs in question are: Dangermouse (Vol. 6) - Who Stole the Bagpipes? Doctor Who (Vol. 14) - 2 disc set of The Talons of Weng-Chiang (which is printed as the Talons of Weng-Chang on the discs themselves. Oops. This has caused many "Typos of Weng-Chiang" jokes already). Volume numbers are unofficial, but based on # of discs released in both series. The CD is Blue Man Group: The Complex, their new collaboration album. See http://blueman.com/complex/ |
And this is *me* on some days...
#529~A goldfish has a memory span of three seconds. (As noted by a reader: "The reason a goldfish swims back and forth and back and forth across the fish bowl all day long everyday is because by the time it gets to one side of the bowl it forgets what's on the other side of the bowl. Every trip is a new adventure! (Hey, I wonder what's over there!.... Hey! I wonder what's over THERE!)"
|
The thing about the fish with the short memory spans is mocked quite readily by Pixar in their Finding Nemo trailers....

Quick! Hide it from dm383! :D #531 |
All DM DVDs are easily obtainable in the UK. I just had to use amazon.co.uk. My DVD-ROM handles PAL->NTSC conversions, though I think most monitors are agnostic in terms of such video formats.
Oh and yes, I own the other 5, and the (to date) only Count Duckula release. #532 |
#533.
What happened, did everyone go out to lunch simultaneously? |
#534
|
#535~Threads like these are hot and cold, dadaist. :)
|
#536. I'll turn the heat up IAKG. There ... 80 degrees. See if that doesn't help.
|
Yeah well you'll notice I didn't say anything when you popped into the chatroom IAKG, because I was busy passing on a message that just came to me from SCO's CEO.
(long, very geeky story involved, and might have a lot of fun litigation too. I gotta get out of IT). #537 |
#538~That's okay--I needed to run fairly quickly, anyway. :)
|
539...now I've made this spot mine...
(Can ya tell I like to rhyme?) |
Ah, but what are you going to do with it, BCG? ;)
#540 |
#541
Speaking of the impossible, IAKG, they say it's impossible to sneeze and keep your eyes open. I think they are right....I tried.....and tried....and no go! |
#542~BCG, who knew that I could sound like Dr. Seuss, too? :)
Yes, I'd heard that, Lixy, but hadn't put it on here yet. Sorry to hear of your sneezing episodes. Allergies kicking in? |
#543
Don't stop now! |
#544 lets keep it going
|
#545~During the chariot scene in 'Ben Hur,' a small red car can be seen in the distance.
|
#546~Most lipstick contains fish scales. Yum.
|
#547.
Your attention please. Please yell if you're paying attention. (-BMG, The Complex, from track 5, "Your Attention") |
And one of my fave's, IAKG:
If Die Hard 2 is taking place in and around Dulles Airport in Virginia, why is Bruce Willis using Pac*Bell phones? :) #548. |
#548~Bruce Lee was so fast that they actually had to SLOW a film down so you could see his moves.
|
#549 We should rename this thread to " Any thing you ever wanted to know" hehehe:)
|
#550
Don't get me started on esoterica. I can dig up some doozies. |
