Pretty cool (http://manmadediy.com/chris/posts/773-shoot-that-s-fun-art-made-from-bullet-holes), I think.

Everybody's a critic. :p

Atmospheric lead dust is a very bad thing.

Note of caution. Don't offer to hold the easel while the work of art is being created. :)

The pictures are neat. :boink:

Cool pictures, but he's cheating. He needs to learn how to do it from 100 yards. That might also be why using a larger caliber rifle is to destructive to the aluminum.

Nah, he's just being exacting. That's what artwork is about.

He needs to learn how to do it from 100 yards.

That's what biathlon is about. Well, 50 meters.

I expected to find a link about healthy thumbs with all their skin intact... :p

GG, I was just being a dick about it. It is cool, and I understand that in order to place the bullet exactly where it needs to be at point blank range.

I resisted comments about thumbnail sketches and such (till now).

Oh, yeah, I understand that it was just good-natured teasing. No problems. I don't think the artist in question, whoever he is, would really be offended, either. Then again, maybe I'm jsut putting words in his mouth.

Better words than something else I would guess. LOL.

Hell I learned how to "dot" the i on a miller lite beer can at 30 yards

But can he do a picture of a clown? :rolleyes2

But evenly spacing three dead in line is another matter. ;)

My dad can do it from 200 yards with his 8 mm Mauser. Course it was built specifically for him and then he spent several hundred rounds getting the scope sighted in as well. It's funny when he pulls it out and cuts the target in half in front of someone who hasn't seen him do it before.

Is it an ex-military rifle?

Mine is, a G98.

I have no clue as to the production date, or use of prior to my dad's ownership. I do know that the stock was custom built for him and he is the best shot in the family with that particular rifle. I could always ask though and get back with you later. My specialty (albeit almost 15 years ago now) has always been archery.

I'm happier with a lead-thrower, noisy but usually effective.

Depends on how much you practice. As with most things, of course.

I can practice walking on the ceiling all I want, but I still suck at it.

Sufficient practice takes you to the limit of your ability.

I shot Olympic and was subsequently part of the Junior Olympic Archery Division (JOAD). I used to be quite good, but lost interest after moving south. There's no JOAD program in South Carolina except in Columbia which was a couple of hours one way.

I have a love for all weaponry, but medieval is my favorite. However, no matter how many swords, knives, bows and arrows I have access to......I"ll always have a good rifle sitting right next to them.

There is no such thing as excessive weaponry.

Oldfart
02-21-2011, 06:31 PM
I disagree, gg.

Twin Trident missiles on a golf cart is excessive if you want anti-aircraft artillery fitted as well.

Lord Snow

We all know I like swords, however, I do not see a need for more than a few. How many broadswords does a person really need? I can live with just four or five personally.

Oldfart

Where would you hide your backup broadsword?

Biggest ouch!

Lord Snow
02-22-2011, 06:31 AM
Depending on the size of the swords......I'd cross the 40 inch and the 36 across my back, the 24 straight down the center of my back, then have my 28 and 32 on either hip. If I decided to carry my shield I could conceivably hide a very short sword between my arm and the wood. Daggers would get tucked into boots and gauntlets. That would be more than enough weaponry for almost any situation.

I repeat. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhlHzYt4xRM) :)

Weaponry is a matter what is available and what threat you are defending from. That can be anything from a fly swatter or slapping a mosquito on your arm up to nuclear warfare.
