But Momma...that's where Venus is today!
Seriously folks...Venus will be crossing in front of the sun this morning. I think it's been about 120 some years since we last saw it happen. OK...not me...but maybe PF did! *giggle*
Sorry...but I haven't had a chance to get a link for you (too early...arrgggggg!). Oh, and it's only for a couple hours this morning...5:30am-7:30am EST. AND...you shouldn't look right at it (remember, Momma said not to!) without those special glasses! Just wanted to make you aware...

If we cant' look at it, how are we gonna see it? :D
I don't have any special glasses, but have been told that I am real special ...

I got lucky for a change.:) No clouds here. I could only observe about the last hour and a half (after it got high enough above the horizon for me :( ) at my longitude, but I DID get to see the exit contacts.:D
Sorry some of us didn’t post something up earlier. There’s a lot of neat and cheap ways to observe solar events safely. About the simplest is to pick up a No.12 welding lens at any welding supply or auto parts store. You’ll be able to use it for the next transit of Venus in 2012 if you’re at Sharni’s house.;) (There are other events coming up in the next few years too.)
PS
I liked it better this time Lixy. :)
