Bless them and their new little baby girl...
Gwynnie gave birth, after a looooooong labour to a healthy 9pd 11oz little girl.
I'm happy for them both...
But tell me, why, WHY!? Call this new beautiful little life... Apple...!?!?

symbol of knowledge...
as in the apple in Eden making the dwellers aware. Is why apples are given to the people who impart knowledge on the masses, teachers.
Maybe they believe that all children are born knowing and that you merely have to access that knowledge. Or maybe they wish for her a deep seated love of learning or passion to know....or maybe they were on crack :p

I opt for the crack! Gyn wouldn't know knowledge if it hit her in her apples!
But, bless the sweet new life though! (<-----I ain't that big a meanie...really I ain't!)

I read recently that Apple is a name a few parents have been thinking of lately. Flower and fruit names are replacing the city and country names.

Apple isn't as bad a name as Frank Zappa gave his kids.

Well, regarding FZ's kids, I'm not too sure on the reasoning behind Moon Unit, but I know Dweezil was named after the nickname given to his wife Gail's misshapen toe, Ahmet is a common name in Arabic countries and India, and Diva doesn't seem that bad a name to me. But Moon Unit, now, that does seem pretty whacked out.

I think after giving birth to a 9 lb 11 oz child any woman would be out of her mind.
I can think of a lot of fruit names that would have been worse.
Could you imagine having the name "Melons" and not as a nick name!!!:D

OMG Summer! My first was 9 lbs 4 oz and she was a horse! (still is) I can't imagine.
As far as Kiwi, I have a cousin who's in her 30's and her name is...I think it's Keely? Not sure but when I was young I always thought it was Kiwi. :p

I'm thinking they're trying to start a new fad... You know... naming your kids after fruit.
